Literature Text
would you
spend a night on the sun
we would carry tired limbs
and empty jugs
ease away
none to notice
heavy warmth at their side
morning won't miss you
we could return
darker
with sunny sugar on our backs
and erect real birdhouses
for the children we left behind
spend a night on the sun
we would carry tired limbs
and empty jugs
ease away
none to notice
heavy warmth at their side
morning won't miss you
we could return
darker
with sunny sugar on our backs
and erect real birdhouses
for the children we left behind
Literature
untitled
in the dream
I stand on the tracks
illuminated by a light that grows exponentially brighter, closer
I realize this means train
this means run
But I cannot move
and so I blink and blink
until I am elsewhere
the side of a Texan highway
this time a log truck crashing towards me
there is no escaping this need to escape
I am forced to be okay with living
in a world where apologies are withheld
& everything goes on as if nothing has gone on
I still wake with my hand between my legs,
guarding,
my fingers a chain-link fence that keeps nothing out
this time, my lover wakes me caressing and I cry
out in pleasure, I cry
until I am just crying
tea
Literature
insurmountable, the horizon obscured
an ocean
is only as in-
surmountable
as your eyes
can carry me
sunrises
like kisses
or twilight in-
habit, stay
the horizon
obscured,
blinks in-
tense, shy
or wilt away
irises nest
like bruises
or irises in-
bloom.
Literature
Metta
Sometimes
when I fear that no one knows me,
I remind myself:
You are stars and indigo
jewel blue
and wide-ruled lines.
And this isn't loneliness.
It’s a delight to be a mystery.
No one can know your soul,
how it seeps into the cracks and crevasses of the world,
what little thrills it will delight in.
It's yours alone.
